Healing Grounds

How we match visitors with the right professional

August 31, 2026

When the first Healing Grounds network started at the Zonnestraal estate in Hilversum, a crucial question arose: how do you match a visitor with the right professional from the network?

Interviews that go beyond a CV

For the answer, Isabel deliberately looked outside healthcare: she approached Nelieke Wismans, who has years of experience in recruitment and a sharp eye for matching people and organisations.

Together they interviewed every professional in the network extensively, using a technique they developed together. First the standard questions: what do you do, why did you start doing this, what does your intake process look like.

Then comes a second, deeper layer: a short meditation in which the people the professional has successfully supported become part of the visualisation. Followed by questions such as: what do you see and feel now, what do these people have in common, what similarity do you see in their issues, what was central in your journey with them? By asking these questions from a meditative state, the answer arises from a deeper knowing.

An A4 with the spirit of a professional

Based on those conversations, Isabel and Nelieke put together a personal A4 for each professional. Key words, a few sentences about their work and practice, and sentences about who they’re really there for: which issues, which desire, which stage of life, which circumstances.

Each professional chose their own colour of paper and symbols, and we took a polaroid photo of the professional. The result is the spirit of a professional captured on a single A4.

Why Positive Health fits

Around that same time, Positive Health came onto Healing Grounds’ path. The broad view of health, from bodily functions to meaning and participation, matched exactly what Isabel and Nelieke were already building. The fact that the visitor themselves stays in the lead also fits Healing Grounds’ vision, where autonomy is one of the core values.

A common misconception, by the way, is that with the Spider Web you should mainly look at your lowest score and work on that. Machteld Huber’s research shows the opposite: the six dimensions are closely connected, and working on one dimension often moves the others along with it. So it’s really about discovering what you truly long for.

That’s why every professional was also asked: which specific part of which dimension can you support visitors with, and which not. That fine-grained information, linked to the A4s, has formed the basis of every match ever since.

What a Clarity Session looks like

A visitor first fills in the questionnaire. That produces the Spider Web, which then goes with them into the Clarity Session. There’s room to share what stands out and to discover together what someone is longing for. Sometimes we linger on the first part, sometimes on the last. Either way, the visitor is seen and heard.

What happens regularly: a desire starts at “I want to feel healthier” and ends up somewhere deeper, for example “I want to feel safer”. From there we look at what someone can already do about that themselves, and which professional can support them.

There are always several professionals who fit the chosen theme. Their A4s then literally go on the table. The visitor chooses, on a mix of feeling and reason, who they want to start with.

Since Healing Grounds began, satisfaction with these matches, from visitors and professionals alike, has been 100%.

Want to experience how that works for yourself? Fill in the questionnaire and book your Clarity Session.
